The San Antonio Spurs have one roster spot left.
RJ Davis was a high-level scorer in the Summer League, but he’s inefficient. Emanuel Miller was a do-all player, but he’s 26 years old. Second-round draft picks Maliq Brown and Ja’Kobe Gillespie both had excellent performances, but there’s only one spot left.
One of them is getting a two-way deal, and the other will get a standard contract. Brown is a hard-nosed defender who seems more “Spursy,” but if trading De’Aaron Fox is actually on the table, then the Spurs need another guard.
Give Brown the two-way, and sign Gillespie to a standard deal. Both should get a decent amount of playing time in their rookie seasons.
